5 Months Old!

She will not always let me decorate her with such ridiculous ribbons and bows, but for now she humors her mama ;-)

Team Swangelista

Soon after Marcus and I got married, a friend jokingly suggested that we combine our two last names into Swangelista and both change our names to that. It stuck and we have been Team Swangelista since. The first two additions to the team were our dogs Harper and Scout who joined us in 2009. Our son Lucas Alejandro joined us in 2010, and our daughter Aliya Ysabel joined us in 2013.

About Me

Ami: I am a Pinay-American who grew up in Manila, studied and worked in Boston and NYC and am now running a maternal health nonprofit in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. The last few years have brought a lot of change, what with starting Roots of Health and having kids. These days I spend a lot of time trying to find the best balance between being a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend, and head of my own organization. I don’t always get as much sleep as I’d like but generally life is interesting and full and I am thankful for so many blessings.
